How far is the Hotel from Ivalo Airport?
It takes ~30 min drive to reach Saariselka and the Riekonlinna/Tunturi hotel.
Is there a lot of flights from Helsinki to Ivalo?
Finnair operates 2 to 3 flights a day from Helsinki to Ivalo.
I cannot find a covenient flight toward or from Ivalo Airport!
You can also fly to Rovaniemi, and connect by bus to Saariselka (or Ivalo). Bus time table are available here.
A bus ticket costs 35,90€ (39€ for express bus), and the connection takes between 3 and half hours and 5 hours. If you arrive in Ivalo from Rovaniemi and cannot find any connection to Saariselka, contact us and we will find an alternative solution.
How to find the bus in the Airport?
The airport is extremely small. The public busses do wait flight arrivals in case of delays. ESTOOLS bus will obviously follow the same procedure. When getting out of the terminal by the main door, you will find a small parking with busses (and personal cars) - it will be easy to find your way.

In anyway, might you arrive at a different day than other participants, there is a public bus connection after EVERY flight arrival from Ivalo to Saarselka (fare: 8,50€ for a 1-way ticket).
How will I connect from the airport to the venue?
As mentioned above, there is always a bus available. However, ESTOOLS is collecting your arrival and departure times and will provide special busses for the vast majority of participants (everyone except very early/late arrival or departure). If you provided your arrival time, you will be contacted in due time with your transport details. ESTOOLS busses are free of charge for participants.
What cloth should I take with me?
If you have standard wintersport cloth, that should be sufficient. Make sure to take several warm pullovers with you. Please note that Finnish houses and hotels are very well insulated and often warmer inside than in most countries (22-24 celcius). ESTOOLS will provide wintercoats (also covering legs) for the safaris, and we have possibilities to get hats, gloves and socks for those who will need it.
When should I give my poster title and abstract?
In case you want to present a poster, we need to have this information before christmass, in order to arrange the printing of participant's packs at time.
