Summer & winter schools

 

The Summer School was run in conjunction with EMBO in August/September 2006 in Sheffield. ESTOOLS scientists from Edinburgh (UK), Basel (CH), Turku (FIN), Bonn (D) and Dresden (D) attended, together with non ESTOOLS participants from Calgari (I), Biogune (E), Minsk (BLR), Boxmeer (NL), Bizkaia (E), Madrid (E), Ljiublyana (SLO), KCL (UK), MIT (USA), ABC (H). ESTOOLS held a second School, "Winter School" in January 2009 in Saariselka (Finnish Lapland, closest Airport: Ivalo), aimed at pre- and post-doctoral scientists as well as technical staff.  Half of the 50 participants were from outside ESTOOLS consortium's research units. It  provided intensive training in key aspects of stem cell biology. More details in our Events pages at Winter School Lapland.
