Arrived from showings in Finland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia and Belgium, our itinerant exhibition Smile of a Stem Cell has made its easternmost landing so far, in the Bulgarian capital city Sofia. It stays in Sofia at the Fountains in front of the National Theatre until 23 October 2008. View the Sofia poster.
The exhibition will move to Varna, opening on Monday 27 October at 15:00h in the Festival Complex. Until 5 November 2008. View the Varna poster.
At the venue in front of the National Theatre on a sunny 9 October, the ceremonial ribbon was cut by Mr Daniel Vasilev Valchev, Bulgaria's Minister for Education & Science. View the Bulgarian media news release and report1 and report2.
Visitors are offered an introduction to the origin and purpose of the exhibiton, but are largely left to develop their own reaction to the creations of scientists from all over Europe - and the media pay attention also.
The locations of the exhibition encourages passers-by on all sides to stop and look, and leave with new ideas about science...
... in the context of the world around them

The exhibition will move to Varna, on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, for the last part of October. See the Varna report.
