T.E.L.E.S.C.O.P.E. Milan

ESTOOLS held its 2-day T.E.L.E.S.C.O.P.E. activity for 16-19 year old students simultaneously between Milan and Stockholm high schools on 27 and 30-31 March 2009.

The morning of Day One was presented by UNISTEM at the Universita Degli Studi di Milano in the Aula Magna, Via Festa del Perdono 7. which in introduced the students to stem cell science. In the afternoon the students were introduced to the ethical dimensions of  embryonic stem cell research and therapy, with talks by Dottoressa Elena Ornaghi (representative of patient associations), Professor Giuseppe Testa (European Institute of Oncology, Milan and member of the ESTOOLS Ethics Advisory Panel), and Professor Augusto Pessina (biologist at the University of Milan).

On Day 2 the discussions were linked in real time by videoconference from the Liceo Einstein in Milan and from Internationella Engelska Skolan in Stockholm. The 4 student discussion groups in Milan were facilitated by Alessia Delli Carri and Christelle Rochon from the University of Milan. Click for detailed programme Day 2
