17 March 2009
ESTOOLS held its 2-day T.E.L.E.S.C.O.P.E. activity for 16-19 year old students simultaneously between Bonn and Jerusalem high schools on 16-17 March 2009.
Day One introduced the students to stem cell scientific theory. The scientific applications (i.e. in medicine) were then placed in context by an overview on the ethical issues related to stem cell research (including diversity of views in relation to culture, religion, societal background). Giving the talks and participating in the discussions were scientists and diverse representatives of society (religious leaders, patients, clinicians).
