Czech network TV and radio broadcasts covering the ESTOOLS meeting

During the 2007 Annual Consortium Meeting in Brno, Czech TV recorded interviews with Petr Dvorak and Ales Hampl, co-PIs at ESTOOLS partner Masaryk University and Austin Smith, ESTOOLS Deputy Coordinator. Ales talks about hESCs and their meaning, properties and usage. Petr and Austin talk about usage of hESCs for the treatment of neural diseases and the importance of understanding biological processes in cells. The recording team also visited the Masaryk University lab in Brno to see the scientists "left behind" to look after their stem cells while colleagues networked at the Annual Meeting! The broadcast went out on Czech TV's evening National News on 31.5.2007 at 19.00. Both videos are Czech-language versions. Click the images to view streamed videoclips:

RADIO

Czech Radio Leonardo, which specializes on topics in science, technology, nature, history and the world at large, discusses with Petr Dvorak the discovery of stem cells, the history of research on embryonic stem cells, their isolation, manipulation and usage, the start of work with embryonic stem cells in Brno, cooperation with ESTOOLS, the present aims of our work and the contribution of conference in Brno. The interview was broadcast at breakfast time on 1 June 2007, the morning of the ESTOOLS Public Symposium in Brno. Click here to hear the audio clip
