Andrew manages the operational aspects of ESTOOLS - including European Commission liaison and overall project delivery. He is in charge of arrangements for the itinerant annual consortium meetings and public symposia, workpackage meetings and forward plan development, financial planning and reporting, interactions between the board of directors, science and ethics advisory panels, supervision of milestone achievement, contractual report delivery (scientific and management), consortium infrastructure (eg public website, members' networking area, consortium's desktop video conferencing service). Sébastien coordinates training for internal and external scientists, and develops ESTOOLS engagement with the public. He is in charge of training visits by ESTOOLS scientists to other labs, external Fellowship scheme, winterschool, workshops (on specific technologies as well as media-communication training), training & outreach materials, T.E.L.E.S.C.O.P.E. programme and other school activities, photo-exhibition Smile of a Stem Cell, consortium newsletter, development of the network among the partner scientists.
Peri is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of the project office. She is in charge of housekeeping for annual meetings, travel, purchasing, reimbursements, calendar coherency, newsletter contributions and full support for Andrew and Sebastien.
Based in Edinburgh, Katia helped ESTOOLS come together for its Rome consortium meeting in 2009. Katia is putting in place all the infrastructure to make the ESTOOLS International Symposium in Lisbon a memorable occasion for consortium members to mingle with leaders in stem cell science from around the world.
Gillian is a qualified accountant based in the Project Office in Sheffield. She is working with each of the ESTOOLS partners, the European Finance Office of the University of Sheffield and the European Commission to integrate communication of the resource needs of the partners in concluding their contracted R&D obligations with an understanding of the availability of the distributed financial resources. Gillian will help complete the smooth and efficient final reporting by the Consortium to the European Commission.
Based in Arezzo, Italy, Sergio is bringing an expert external eye to help the Consortium reveal its work and achievement to the wider world. He will be visible at the ESTOOLS Lisbon Symposium in May 2010, managing interaction between the media and Consortium members.
